About Peggy Holcroft
I was born in Toronto. Having spent a number of years in Belleville, I returned to the Quinte region in 2003 after living in the United States for twenty years. As an artist, I have been a member of the various communities through the years, being very active in the art scene. A passionate entrepreneur, I have been successful in business and now devote my time to my love of art. I'm the past advertising chair on the executive board of the Belleville Art Association and a member of the Quinte Arts Council, Fine Art America, Brushstrokes and Arts Quinte West. I have participated in many shows, juried shows and events and continue to be active . My passion for art came from my mother and great uncle. Mostly self taught I have benefited from art classes over the years. As a commissioned artist I find inspiration in painting dogs, flowers, homes, churches, businesses and historic architecture. I have extensive International commissions of private residences and businesses. I want to express my love of community and nature in my paintings now and for years to come. I want the emotion I put in each brush stroke across the canvas to be felt. My paintings become a physiological bridge between me and the viewer. Being an artist allows me to explore the concepts of reality and imagination. The satisfaction I realize from my art is very rewarding.
